Lessons Learnt from the Civil War
The Civil war was one of the most monumental and bloodiest wars in U.S. history. It was also one of the saddest. Family's were ripped apart, and so was the country. Afterwords, many valuable lessons were learnt about life, about peace, and about war. One of these lessons relates to a quote Abraham Lincoln once said, "A house divided cannot stand.". Neither the South or the North could live without each other. The south needed the north's factories and the north needed the south's cotton and other crops.
They learnt patience. The whole war might not have happened if they just waited to see what Abraham Lincoln would do. He wouldn't just abolish slavery. He would slowly convince the south slavery was bad, and then, and ONLY then, he would abolish it.
